Grace wants out. Out of her house, where her stepfather wields fear like a weapon and her mother makes her scrub imaginary dirt off the floors. Out of her California town, too small to contain her big city dreams. Out of her life, and into the role of Parisian artist, New York director—anything but scared and alone.

Enter Gavin: charming, talented, adored. Controlling. Dangerous. When Grace and Gavin fall in love, Grace is sure it's too good to be true. She has no idea their relationship will become a prison she's unable to escape.

Deeply affecting and unflinchingly honest, this is a story about spiraling into darkness—and emerging into the light again.

BAD ROMANCE is the kind of book that stays with you long after you’ve finished. I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this book from a friend and having finished it last week, I can honestly say, I’ve thought about it every day since then. What Heather Demetrios has done with this novel, is shed a light on a very real and a very dangerous experience for so many people, including teens. Abuse, whether it be physical, sexual, mental or verbal, has touched so many lives and this is the kind of book that so many readers need in their life. Lia and Rafe have escaped Venda and the path before them is winding and dangerous - what will happen now? This third and final book in The Remnant Chronicles is not to be missed.

Bestselling author Mary E. Pearson's combination of intrigue, suspense, romance and action make this a riveting page turner for teens.

Let’s take a moment, shall we? I’d like to mark this occasion. I wish I had banners to unfurl and a red carpet to roll out. At the very least, I could really use some confetti. Why all the fanfare and excitement? First and foremost, it’s because “The Beauty of Darkness” in finally out in the world but for me it means so much more, because I loved this book so damn much. I make no exaggerations when I say that this final book in The Remnant Chronicles series is absolute perfection and is now one of my all-time favorite books.

Intrigue abounds in this hotly anticipated sequel to The Kiss of Deception!Held captive in the barbarian kingdom of Venda, Lia and Rafe have little chance of escape. Desperate to save her life, Lia's erstwhile assassin, Kaden, has told the Vendan Komizar that she has the gift, and the Komizar's interest in Lia is greater than anyone could have foreseen.Meanwhile, nothing is straightforward: there's Rafe, who lied to Lia, but has sacrificed his freedom to protect her; Kaden, who meant to assassinate her but has now saved her life; and the Vendans, whom Lia always believed to be barbarians. Now that she lives amongst them, however, she realizes that may be far from the truth. Wrestling with her upbringing, her gift, and her sense of self, Lia must make powerful choices that will affect her country... and her own destiny.

GUYS!! I loved this book! Correction…I love this series! So much so, that I can confidently say it’s on my list of favorite fantasy series of all time. If you look back at my review and mood board for ‘The Kiss of Deception’, you’ll see that I’ve been a huge fan of Lia’s story from the moment I started reading. SPOILER ALERT: This review will have spoilers for book one, so don’t read any further if you haven’t read ‘The Kiss of Deception’. I tried valiantly to write a review without spoilers, but it was pretty much impossible! Continue reading “Book Feels: The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson {Giveaway}”
