It’s been a while since my last Leisurely Lit installment, and since it’s summer and a lot of us are going on vacation soon, I thought it would be the perfect time to introduce you to some books that would be perfect for you to bring along on your adventures. I just started watching Black Sails on Starz and am absolutely loving it, so I was inspired to put together the perfect list of YA books that feature everyone’s favorite high seas adventurers…PIRATES. I can’t think of a better theme for summer adventure because once you add pirates to any story it automatically turns into a wild ride. So, grab your best eye patch and start practicing your fiercest “ARRRGGHHH”, because after reading these books you’ll be ready to sail the high seas in search of your very own treasure!

If I’m doing this vacation thing right then I’m currently exploring the cities of Charlestown, SC and Savannah, Georgia, or I’ve got myself planted on a lounge chair with my nose buried in a book. Either way, as your reading this I’m definitely living my best life. I adore vacation and any time I get the opportunity to break out of my everyday schedule and experience something new, well, I’m a very happy girl. Already? Another month has gone by? It’s kind of hard to believe that April has already come and gone, and now here we are at the beginning of May! SO much happened in my life in April…I mean SO.MUCH! For example…I got a new job and am moving back to Boston! Huge right? BIG news! I don’t think I can adequately explain how excited I am to be moving back home, and I’m even more thrilled that I somehow managed to get my old job back! SCORE! Seriously, everything fell into place so perfectly that it’s hard not to believe in fate. Needless to say, I’m a happy woman!
Because I had so much going on in April, I feel like I didn’t get a ton of reading in, and all my reading challenges were a big ol’ FAIL! I look at the list of books read for the month of April and think to myself. “Only six?!” But then I remember that I started two books that I decided to put aside so I try not to be too hard on myself. Like I said, April was a busy month for me. Let’s not even get started about May. It’s going to be intense! So bear with me as I settle in to my new routine and get back in to the swing of things.
Hmmm, let’s see, what else? Oh yeah…
I leave for BEA 2015 in TWENTY FOUR DAYS!!!
Now…on to the fun stuff! BOOKS!!!
