Blogger Bucket List: Travel Edition featuring Alexa from Alexa Loves Books & Rachel from Hello, Chelly!

I’m so excited to have the fabulous duo of Alexa from Alexa Loves Books and Rachel from Hello, Chelly as my guest bloggers today! These two ladies are always in search of the perfect adventure and often times they’re doing it together. I love when these two team up and hit the road for their Books in Real Life feature. Alexa also had a great past feature I loved called {Bookish} Travel Buddies and Rachel has a whole portion of her amazing blog dedicated to travel! So, it should come as NO surprise that these ladies were the perfect pair to come up with an amazing travel bucket list…BFF style!

In the five years we’ve been friends, we have taken our fair share of road trips together. But we’ve never gone on a trip that requires getting on a plane, and that’s something we want to do in the future! When we were brainstorming for this post, we came up with a list of six places we want to visit together someday – and every single one of them involves getting on a plane.

One of the local trips we are planning for is a visit to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. Even though we’re both city girls at heart, we love being outdoors too. There’s something about the sight of natural wonders like the Canyon that really appeals to us, and we definitely hope to experience all it has to offer one day.

New Orleans

Last year, for Friends with ARCs, we read Even if the Sky Falls by Mia Garcia, which sparked our desire to travel to New Orleans. She painted an appealing picture of the town, but particularly won us over by describing the food. While our priority is eating all the best dishes NOLA has to offer, we also look forward to visiting the French Quarter and the other sights too. (But really, our number one priority is beignets.)

While we’ve both been to the City of Light before, we think it would be extra special to go there together. There’s still so much that we both have to experience – Alexa has yet to see the Eiffel Tower at night, for instance, and Rachel has yet to visit Sacre Coeur, and even though we’ve both been, Shakespeare and Co. Would be fun to visit with a fellow book lover. Plus, there’s all the pastries and baguettes we need to eat! It would be so fun to pretend to be Parisians together, that’s for sure.

We both love historical romances set in Scotland (particularly The Secret and Ransom), which is really the reason it made it onto our list. There’s something about the combination of compelling history and beautiful scenery that really appeals to us. And it would just be really fun to visit a castle and live out our historical romance daydreams!

We realized a couple of years ago that we both loved the same anime shows growing up, and have been watching a couple of shows together since then. This is a major part of the reason why we want to go to Japan together! Aside from that, there’s the food (ramen for the win), the culture, the sites, the history and so much more. We’ll definitely be saying Ohayou Japan one day!

Other sights to see: Tokyo Owl Cafe, Golden Pavilion, Harajuku, temples

Prince Edward Island

This is the most obvious choice on this list, as we share a mutual love for Anne of Green Gables and would absolutely want to visit the place where the series is set. Basically, we just want to put ourselves in Anne Shirley’s shoes for a few days!

Thank you Sarah for inviting us to write this post together! It was really fun to think about the places we want to visit one day, and hopefully, we will be able to cross them all off the list!

From our most recent road trip!
