Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Spring Reads

– hosted by The Broke and the Bookish -
– hosted by The Broke and the Bookish –

I’m going to be completely honest. It doesn’t FEEL like Spring! Here in Boston it’s been freezing cold and by the time most of you read this, we’ll be well on our way to 12-18 inches of fresh snow. Needless to say, I am NOT pleased! Spring technically starts next week and I’m MORE than ready for warmer temps and green grass.

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is a nice distraction from the wintry blues I’m feeling because it reminds that Spring really is just around the corner. Before I know it, I’ll have the top down on my Mini Cooper and all be right in the world again. Many thanks, as always, to the ladies at  The Broke and the Bookish for another fabulous prompt!

blacksouls / bad romance / the names they gave us

Blacksouls by Nicole Castroman

I absolutely adored “Blackhearts” last year (check out my review), which means this will be one of my most anticipated books of Spring 2017!

Bad Romance by Heather Demetrios

One of my all-time favorite authors who wrote one of my all-time favorite books. I will never have enough of Heather’s words in my life and “Bad Romance” promises to be heart-wrenching read.

The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord

Emery is another one of my all-time favorite authors and the buzz surrounding her fourth novel has been nothing short of amazing!

in the afterlife / a court of wings and ruin flame in the mist / a conjuring of light

In the Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken

I read the first two books in this series, The Darkest Minds and Never Fade, last year as part of the Book Avengers feature I host with Kristina at Gone Pecan. I was a big fan of the first two books, so I am excited to FINALLY conclude the series.

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

I really liked A Court of Thorns and Roses and I’m basically OBSESSED with A Court of Mist and Fury, so I’m expecting ACOWAR to absolutely destroy me!

Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh

“Flame in the Mist” has been billed as a mash-up of Mulan and 47 Ronin and I’m all….YES! I loved Ahdieh’s The Wrath & the Dawn and it’s follow-up The Rose & the Dagger, so I’m already just going to call this one a WIN too!

A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab

Here’s another final book in a series I read as part of my Book Avengers series. I have an unrelenting love for A Darker Shade of Magic and A Gathering of Shadows, and now that the final book is out, I NEED to know how the story ends!

song of the current / defy the stars / royal bastards

Song of the Current by Sarah Tolcser

I love a good debut novel and this one sounds completely epic! River gods, pirates and mysterious men. The summary bills it as a romantic fantasy and that is an automatic and enthusiastic thumbs up from me.

Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray

You guys! “Defy the Stars” has an intergalactic war and robots! This Entertainment Weekly article even draws comparisons to HBO’s Westworld! Sounds like a perfect fit for me!

Royal Bastards by Andrew Shvarts

All you have to say is that this book is reminiscent of Game of Thrones, and I am there. But then it also gets compared to Six of Crows? I don’t think my brain can handle all of that epicness!

Are any of these books on your SPRING TBR too? Which book are you most looking forward to reading? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

  9. Spring definitely hasn’t arrived yet where I live either. I’m hoping it makes an appearance soon.

As soon as you mentioned that “Defy the Stars” has intergalactic war and robots, I was interested. I love books that have that kind of stuff.

  19. I’m really looking forward to Emery Lord’s new book! I haven’t read any of her past stuff, but this one looks so innteresting! And ACOL! I’m reading it right now, and it’s really good. I was a bit worried since I wasn’t the biggest fan of AGOS, but the finale is great so far IMO!
