For the past few weeks some amazing bloggers have been celebrating Rebel and have created some posts that show just how fabulous this book is. Today, I’m here to give you my top five reasons to love Amani, the badass main character that totally stole my heart!

Sarah’s Top Five Reasons to Love Amani!

Girlfriend is sassy, sarcastic and totally hilarious! There are so many one-liners and comments that Amani makes that had me laughing out loud. Even when she’s trying to be completely serious, she has this edge to her that I adore!

From the very first pages of Rebel and all the way to the end of Traitor, Amani is put into some extremely dangerous situations that, more often than not, could lead to some seriously dire consequences. But Amani digs deep, puts her big girls pants on and does the damn thing.

Nobody’s perfect, and that certainly goes for Amani too. She hasn’t always made the right decision and she’s paid greatly for that. What I admire about her though, is that she doesn’t run away from her past and faces the consequences head on.

I’m always a big fan of a heroine that can hold her own. As I mentioned above, Amani finds herself in some pretty precarious situations but when she gets the chance to fall back on her epic sharpshooting skills, she shows her enemies that she’s not someone to be messed with.

SHE’S dedicated to HER BELIEFS…

When Amani makes up her mind, whether it be about a certain person, the way something should be or how she’s going to handle a situation, she doesn’t quit or waver on those beliefs. Which I suppose could sometimes be interpreted as stubborn! Still, I love her for it.

She’s more gunpowder than girl—and the fate of the desert lies in her hands.

Mortals rule the desert nation of Miraji, but mystical beasts still roam the wild and barren wastes, and rumor has it that somewhere, djinni still practice their magic. But there's nothing mystical or magical about Dustwalk, the dead-end town that Amani can't wait to escape from.

Destined to wind up "wed or dead," Amani’s counting on her sharpshooting skills to get her out of Dustwalk. When she meets Jin, a mysterious and devastatingly handsome foreigner, in a shooting contest, she figures he’s the perfect escape route. But in all her years spent dreaming of leaving home, she never imagined she'd gallop away on a mythical horse, fleeing the murderous Sultan's army, with a fugitive who's wanted for treason. And she'd never have predicted she'd fall in love with him... or that he'd help her unlock the powerful truth of who she really is.
