Blog Tour: The Valiant by Lesley Livingston {MOOD BOARD & GIVEAWAY}

Welcome to the fabulous blog tour for “The Valiant” by Lesley Livingston! SO far, this epic tour has  featured an intriguing author interview, some gorgeous warrior inspired makeup, a badass post on feminism in YA from the author, a tribute to the bow and arrow,  a thoughtful review and a modern day-take on fashion from “The Valiant”. Can you believe still have more than two and a half weeks left in the tour. Make sure you check out the schedule below and also keep scrolling for an epic giveaway. You can thank me later!

In the meantime, you KNOW I had to create a mood board to share with all of you as part of my tour stop…

“The Valiant” from author Lesley Livingston, is an intriguing and mysterious story of a Celtic princess who has had everything she knows and loves taken away from her and is thrust into a dangerous and unfamiliar world…Ancient Rome. Fallon never loses her passion, stubbornness and headstrong attitude, and as she begins to make her way through this new uncertain life she uses these strengths to survive. I loved how Fallon remained strong and committed no matter what was thrown her way and that she didn’t give up and let anyone rescue her. There’s no doubt that she’s meant for something greater.

Everything she thought she knew gets completely turned on it’s head and you can’t help but feel for Fallon as she makes several mind-blowing and totally unexpected discoveries throughout her journey.

“The Valiant” is a wild ride and each chapter was packed with some sort of drama or action. The plot is what totally did it for me in this book and I became so invested in how everything would turn out in the end. If anything, I would have loved a little more character development, as I felt like some characters had more of a story to tell and I WANTED to hear it! There’s a LOT to tell in this action-packed story though, so lot of text was devoted to creating the framework of the plot. I’m excited for the sequel releasing next year, as it will be a great chance to get to know the characters even more so I can understand what drives and motivates their actions.

If you love plot-driven historical fiction (ancient Rome for the win) filled with drama, action and mystery, then I highly suggest you pick this one up!

Lost to history, the story of the female gladiator has never been told. Until now.

Fallon is the daughter of a proud Celtic king and the younger sister of the legendary warrior Sorcha. When Fallon was just a child, Sorcha was killed while defending their home from the armies of Julius Caesar.

On the eve of her seventeenth birthday, Fallon is excited to follow in her sister's footsteps and earn her place in her father's war band. She never gets the chance.

Fallon is captured by ruthless brigands who sell her to an elite training school for female gladiators owned by none other than Julius Caesar himself. In a cruel twist of fate, the man who destroyed Fallon's family might be her only hope of survival.

Now, Fallon must overcome vicious rivalries, deadly fights in and out of the arena, and perhaps the most dangerous threat of all: her irresistible feelings for Cai, a young Roman soldier and her sworn enemy.
