I decided to tweak this week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt just a little bit. The original title was “Top Ten Inspiring Quotes from Books”, which is a fantastic topic! It’s just that there are so many quotes out there that inspire me in different ways and I thought I would break them down a little bit further. Hope you enjoy!

Inspiring Quotes That Make Me Feel…

Like I’m hanging out with friends…

“Just… isn’t giving up allowed sometimes? Isn’t it okay to say, ‘This really hurts, so I’m going to stop trying’?”
“It sets a dangerous precedent.”
“For avoiding pain?”
“For avoiding life.”
― Rainbow RowellFangirl

“So you haven’t read the books.”
“I’m not really a book person.”
“That might be the most idiotic thing you’ve ever said to me”
― Rainbow RowellFangirl

Like Everything Is Going to be OK…

“Kind of. Just—we don’t know what happens when we die, right? I mean, maybe we go up to some perfect place in the sky, or maybe we turn to dust, or we’re spirits and can still think and hear and go places. So talking to the person that’s dead isn’t crazy. They could be listening to you. Right?”
― Heather DemetriosI’ll Meet You There

“…if you could make a beautiful piece of art from discarded newspapers and old matchbooks, then it meant that everything had potential. And maybe people were like collages-no matter how broken or useless we felt, we were an essential part of the whole. We mattered.”
― Heather DemetriosI’ll Meet You There

Like I Am a Bad Ass female Warrior…

“You could rattle the stars,” she whispered. “You could do anything, if only you dared. And deep down, you know it, too. That’s what scares you most.”
― Sarah J. MaasThrone of Glass

“She was the heir of ash and fire, and she would bow to no one.”
― Sarah J. MaasHeir of Fire

Like calling my BFF and telling her I love her…

“In friendship we are all debtors. We all owe each other for a thousand small kindnesses, for little moments of grace in the chaos.”
― Emery LordThe Start of Me and You

“This is the currency of friendship, traded over years and miles, and I hope it’s an even exchange someday. For now, I do what all best friends do when there’s nothing left to say. We lie together in all the darkness, shoulder to shoulder, and wait for the worst to be over.”
― Emery LordOpen Road Summer

Like I could crawl inside the pages…

“But remember, child, we may all have our own story and destiny, and sometimes our seemingly bad fortune, but we’re all part of a greater story too. One that transcends the soil, the wind, time… even our own tears. Greater stories will have their way.”
― Mary E. PearsonThe Kiss of Deception

“soon the day would cleave in two, forever creating the before and after of my life, and it would happen in one swift act that I could no more alter than the color of my eyes.”
― Mary E. PearsonThe Kiss of Deception

Bonus Quote

Like hugging all of my books…

“when I’m feeling sad, I like to be around all these books. They’re very good at making you forget your troubles. It’s like having a million friends, wrapped in paper and scrawled in ink”
― Melissa GreyThe Girl at Midnight

  1. Your Fangirl quotes are fantastic – I really wish I would have thought to add them to my own list. I also really like your pick from Throne of Glass – another one I should have added.

Hope you do not mind that I borrowed your idea with credit for my own #TopTenTuesday by putting headers to sort my quotes into like you have done.
